SXSW 2018 is a huge hit for Tech, Music and Film and starts next week on the 9th of March.
Last year the annual event saw 421,900 attendees throughout the week and featured speakers, Dr. Jill Biden and Vice President Joe Biden. This year the key speakers who will present the most transformative ideas shaping our future are: Alexa Chung- the founder and CEO of GIPHY, Amber Venz Box - the President and Co-Founder of rewardStyle and LiketoKnow.it, Kenya Barris- the creator of the Emmy-nominated series Black-ish for ABC, Christianne Amanpour - CNN’s chief international correspondent and anchor of the network’s award-winning, flagship global affairs program Amanpour, Young Guru- “the most influential man in hip-hop you’ve never heard of” according to The Wall Street Journal, Susan Wojcicki- CEO of YouTube, Nicholas Thompson - editor-in-chief of Wired, amongst the others. The film section will be presented by Darren Aronofsky - Academy Award-nominated director of “Mother!”, “Noah”, “Black Swan” and by Barry Jenkins who received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his second feature “Moonlight”. Music is represented by Lyor Cohen- an American music industry executive, currently serving as Global Head of Music at Youtube and Google.
Convergence will be the topic for the presentation of Ta-Nehisi Coates - a national correspondent for “The Atlantic” and a talented writer, Nonny de la Pena- founder and CEO of the award-winning Emblematic Group, Sadiq Khan- the Mayor of London and Whurley - the founder and CEO of Strangeworks, a quantum computing startup based in Austin, Texas. As for the last topic- interactive, it will be discussed during the presentation of philanthropist Melinda Gates and Esther Perel - the psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author.
