During London Fashion Week The Woolmark Company hosted its annual international design competition, aimed at bridging the gap between new technologies, sustainable innovations and luxury fashion. 12 forward-thinking finalists from all over the globe presented their innovative take on new generation fibres and sustainable designs.
The International Woolmark Prize was awarded to the American duo Colovos for Womenswear and to British designer Edward Crutchley for the Menswear as well as Innovation. The winning collections will be sold globally at high-end department stores including Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford, Hudson’s Bay and online at MyTheresa.
Future Tech Lab Chief Innovation Officer Dr Amanda Parkes spent the past 6 months mentoring the finalists and consulting with alternative biofabrication, evaluating flammability strategies for wool fibers in 3D full garment knitting machines etc.
